The shows were pretty whack but those bands are some of the greatest dudes ever so it was ok. On Friday we did a Bamboozle pre-show put on by the lovely dudes at Glamour Kills. My good friend Stacy even came and hung out with me there. That show was sold out and super rad. Then on Saturday we hit up Bamboozle, and the dudes killed it. Every single kid watching them was going nuts. Then we did a signing for Glamour Kills that ended up lasting like three times as long as it was scheduled for, and we still had to turn away hundreds of kids. Thennnnnnnnn we did the second day of Bamboozle, and it was pretty much the same as the first.
But here's where things get awesome...
We had yesterday off so we came to the city we're playing at today. Turns out Taking Back Sunday was playing a secret show last night at the venue we're playing at today. So our booking agent got us into that show. It was incredible to see them in what is an intimate venue for them (only 900 kids). They only played two songs off Tell All Your Friends, but it was cool. And they played two brand new songs that were pretty rad. Oh and their new guitar player kicks ass. And I feel like im 15 all over again. This weekend fucking pwnd.

Poughkeepsie, New York

Bamboozle is this weekend, it's gonna be insane. It's just really fucking stupid and makes me not want to come home.
PEACE

Boise, Idaho...no you da ho!

This road has been so freakin' long, but I'm coming home in three days. I'll only be there for three days, but it's all good. So let's party!
I'm so stoked on these dudes, and even more stoked that we're spending the whole entire year together. I never really thought I'd be able to tour manage and maintain the same friendship I previously had with anyone, but these guys make it so easy.
I never really write anything of importance on here, it's usually just how I'm touring with the best people in the world. But I keep getting more and more blessed with the people I meet and my "employers" if you will. I'm so lucky. Now I just need to catch that butterfly I've been chasing for damn near a year. Oh well.
Anyway, Chico, I'll be home from the 21st-24th, so come see me, bring me beer, cigarettes, candy, sweet treats, etc. After that I won't be home till June, then I'll probably never see you again. Surprise surprise.
The dudes recorded a show for MTV in New Jersey today, so it was my duty to drive the van from Pittsburgh to Chicago so I can pick them up from the airport in the morning. Bridget was cool enough to join me on the ride and keep me company. We had a good drive. Got our hotel in Chicago, and what do you know? The wheel is about to fall off the trailer. We have a sold out show tomorrow night, and no trailer, and it's a Sunday so it'll be hell finding someone to fix it. We are figuring out what to do in the morning. Pray all goes well and we make it to all the shows.
But really, this tour has been amazing. I'm not even in a bad mood tonight when i probably should be. Life is too good right now. Friends are too good right now. Everything's too rad right now. It's gonna be a big year, and we are all so stoked. But who gives a shit about that stuff. More importantly, life is really fucking good right now. Friends are amazing, relationships are getting rebuilt, and it turns out they're stronger than they ever were. Happiness, grace and acceptance are key here. Think about what you're doing before you do it. Have some morals.
I have had some regret on my shoulders lately, and I seem to finally be admitting it and working it out.
Something I've really wanted lately is comradery. It's so much better than friendship. I have it at home, now I want it on tour. I want to be more than friends with these people, I want to feel like we've known each other forever and would do anything for each other. That's what I get stoked on in a friendship.
I know some really fucking good people, and it rules. I'm touring the entire universe this year, so check my myspace to see when im coming to see you.

"Everything you do makes it easy to fall in love with you...With everything you do I just can't seem to get over you"

It's been quite some time...

Soooooooo it's been an incredibly long time since I've updated this son of a b. Over a year i think. I decided it was time for an update cause I'm always checking out my brother's blog to see if he has updated. And today i came across Sean g's blog, so they both inspired me to start writing again.
A lot has happened. I think last time I posted i was on tour with Eisley. I did that one tour with them and then did a tour with Waking Ashland. Everyone on both of those tours was super rad, mainly cause Brighten was on both of them. Then I took some months off and worked a shitty job. Not so cool. Then Brighten became the biggest, best band in the world. Then I did two tours with This Providence and I love them to death. Then I realize i suck at writing this crap so I'm done for now. More updates possibly when im on tour again.

Cleveland, OH

So yeah. Since I last posted, I've been to Boston, Montreal, Toronto, and Detroit. It was my first time in Canada. It was pretty cool there, but possibly some of the dumbest kids I've ever encountered. The French ones weren't even as bad as the normal "Eh" saying ones. I found that kind of the weird. The French ones would ask for a small shirt, but that was too big, so they would ask for a large. Stupid smelly French Canadians. And I don't know where to start with the other ones...I just didn't like them, let's leave it at that. Detroit sucks too. It was so ghetto, and so many damn panhandlers. Same with Cleveland though, only less ghetto. I'm kinda excited for tomorrow. We have the day off, so we're going to Chicago to hang out with our friend Rachel who we haven't seen in ages. Oh and tonight at the venue, there was some old drunk guy, and he sounded exactlyyyyyyyyy like my dad does. That was funny. Him and Quinn were BFF. Done.

New York, NY

So I was gonna post the other day...but i was planning on putting some pictures up, but I couldn't find them. Anywho, my post was going to be about me spending 70 bucks at Walmart. See, at the beginning of the tour, Weston and Garron got me hooked on flashflights. I don't know why I like them so much. They make you feel powerful, and when you get a good one, it's super bright and blinds people. I think that's what I like best about them. So anyway I found a pretty decent one for twenty bucks at Walmart. Then I found a great knife to cut people with for another twenty bucks. Then i found a great airsoft gun to shoot people with for another twenty bucks. Then i found 4000 bullets for it for like seven or eight bucks. And that was a day. I think it's safe to say I'm content with all of my purchases. Nothing too exciting has happened though. I've eaten my fair share of Waffle House, but not too much Fazoli's, and no Cracker Barrel or Chic Fil A at all. That's kinda depressing. Last night in DC, I didn't have to do my job cause there was somebody there to do it for me, so it was kinda nice to get a night off. Except for the fact that I was cleaning off the blade of my knife with my finger, and sliced the hell out of my damn finger. It hurts a whole lot. We're going to Canada in two days, and I'm excited for that. I've never been. And it will be nice to turn off my phone and not really talk to anybody besides the people I'm with. Maybe I'll start doing that more often. And eventually just not have a phone and no one will ever talk to me ever ever again. Or not. Well I'm super bored so I think I'll go walk around and try to find something to eat.

Carrboro, NC

So yeah, I haven't updated for about a week...The tour officially started. Everyone in Eisley is really cool and easy to get along with, but the guys in Simon Dawes are kind of weird/perverts. Whatevs, they don't really hang out with any of us anyway. I'm having a lot of fun though, except the days in Florida, cause it sucks there. the show in Nashville last night was sold out, and I think tonight is too. And I think most of the other shows are sold out or close to it. I'm making hella bank, working for two bands, so that's cool. When we were in Florida we drove through the Everglades and saw hellllllllla gators. It was way cool. I've never seen any before. We have our first day off tomorrow, so that'll be relaxing. I really can't think of any good stories...I never have any. I drove the van and trailer for the first time the other day. I did pretty good. i can't think of anything else.

Tyler, TX

So yeah...We left about 24 hours ago, and finally got here this morning. I miss all the cool people in Tempe though. The other night, we went out to an Indian reservation and looked for ghosts and whatnot. We didn't see any, but it was still really cool. Just knowing we could get shot at any minute was a real rush. I really just can't wait for the tour to start...not for another five days though. I miss touring with NOG a lot, but I'm having a lot of fun doing this all with my best friends. Things are a lot different though. Oh well. It's been fun. Nothing too exciting yet, though. We had an intense game of basketball tonight. Everyone was wearing jerseys and whatnot, and it got filmed, so a video will probably be up soon. We're leaving for Tyler, Tx on Tuesday or Wednesday...I'm not sure.
In more exciting news, I finally changed my underwear this morning. I'd been wearing them since we left, but then after basketball, I had to change them again. I was pissed about that, cause I'm trying to make these underwear last, so I'll have to do minimal laundry. Oh and I finally took a shower today too. Cool. So I'm deciding between a Marilyn Monroe one and an Elvis one that says 'All About Elvis'. Then the clerk interrupts me to show me this kickass airsoft gun that they have. The only catch is, it isn't all that kickass. Nonetheless, it has a laser pointer on it, and it's the tiniest thing ever. And it only cost 5.79. So I got it. Along with like 2000 pellets for like two bucks. So anyway, we get in and we're driving down the road, and as usual, me and Chris start wrestling. And what ended up happening was that I kind of pushed Chris against the window, and he must've hit like a pressure point or something on the glass, and the window just completely shattered...as we're driving down the freakin' interstate. It sucked. So now me and Chris have to buy a new window. Lame. But today the coolest thing ever happened. We pulled over at a Taco Bell/KFC, and some black guy was walking out. He asked me and Chris if we were in a band, and we made small talk. It turned out he was Ghostface Killah of Wu Tang, and he gave me his number cause he said he wanted to collaborate with Number One Gun. Pretty kickass. That's all. Bye. See you in a couple days, Heather.

Durham, North Carolina

So yeah. Still not a whole lot goin' on. I've spent the past couple days with the Project and Mourning September guys, cause NOG flew out to Chino for a show. I've been doing Project's merch for my good friend Joe. I've been sleeping on a floor without a pillow for the past two nights, so that kind of sucks. The other night we played at a venue and GWAR played there the night before, so I was very starstruck. I took the agenda for that show with me as memorbilia. There were like five giant rolls of carpet that they used to cover the stage for that show, and they were covered in fake blood, and there was also fake blood everywhere around the venue. Freakin' sweet. We spent the next day at a YMCA. Hella lame. Show last night, nothing special. And the only part worth mentioning about today is that I ate at Chick-Fil-A and Waffle House. Oh and I ended up not making the new blog on Myspace, as anticipated. I couldnt figure out how to resize the pictures. But my brother put up a bunch of the pictures on his blog. Not doing much. Gosh...this is the most boring blog ever. Anyway, we came to Grand Rapids last night. Nothing really happened. The show tonight wasn't too great. Except before the show I was on the phone with Heather outside, and apparently, some stupid girls ran into our van while they were parking. I don't really understand how they hit it, because it was a straight shot from the entrance to their parking space. But anyway, one of the guys from Spoken was standing right next to the van, so the girls, who were kind of worried about it, went and asked him if it was his van. When he told them it wasn't his van, they were very calm, and apparently planned on not telling anyone else about their little collision. Luckily, Ryan, the guy from Spoken, stopped them as they were walking away and told them it was our van, and I was standing right there. So they came back and told me, and as I went over to inspect it, they kept assuring me that nothing was wrong with it. Even thought there wasn't anything wrong with the van, it was suspicious that they were trying to stall me. Oh well.
So anyway, after the show, we're about to leave the parking lot, and some idiot tries to zoom past us and runs right into the side of the trailer, hitting the wheel. This guy was so stupid, he just starts driving away, even though me and Jordan were standing right there. So we chase after him, and Jordan ends up throwing his water bottle at the guy's car. After the guy stops, he tries to tell us that he doesn't think he hit the car. So we just yelled at him and told him not to drive away when he hits our van. Stupid guy.
So then after all that, we drove a couple blocks away, because Emery was playing in the same city, so we hung out with them and played Halo, and I freakin' dominated. 35 kills in my first game. That's all. Bye.
PS-I have a new blog on my myspace. That and I go to sleep earlier than everyone else, so I miss out on all the fun. Last night was probably the crappiest show in the history of crap and shows and their combinedness. Imagine the worst show you've ever been to, then cut that in half, and then in half one or two more times. But that's not it. Then imagine those twenty or thirty kids at the show, and pretend that none of them have any money whatsoever to buy anything, except like four kids. Yeah, that's about it. Crap. But tonight's show is a lot better. There's probably 300-400 kids here. But the food wasn't so great. I don't know if I mentioned it, but the show in Minneapolis went great. We finally made over 300 bucks, and the food was freakin amazing. First we got a catered dinner. Kinda Southern style, just the way I like it. Then after the show there was deli platters, which are probably my most favorite things in the world. Oh and all we could drink Rockstars. It doesn't get much better than that. Oh wait, yes it does. There were volunteers there to do my job, so I got to play video games all night. It was a good night. So I'm really sorry that I don't have good stories. You should probably stop reading this.

SIKE!

We have money now. We're still on tour.
So yeah, things have been going a little better the past couple of days. It's real nice to be back. I missed everyone for that one day. But it was really cool cause when we got back to Mankato, MN, we got to load and unload up a nice flight of stairs...in the rain. Pretty sweet. Then we had today off. And boy what a day it was. We drove to the outskirts of Minneapolis last night and stayed in a hotel. Me, Jeff, and Ryan had planned on playing Halo till the cows came home last night. We kept our fingers crossed all night in hopes that the TVs at our hotel would have RCA ins. Luckily, we got there, and they did! The only trouble was, the damn hotel blocked off the video channel so people couldn't usen DVD players or XBOXs. Hella not cool. So we went downstairs in search of a TV that would work. All we could find projector screens in the Conference Rooms, but we were dumb enough to ask the guy at the front if we could use them, instead of just helping ourselves. So we went back up to our room to solve the problem ourselves.
The TVs in our rooms had four blank buttons next to the channel and volume buttons, so we figured one of these had to have been the video button that was blocked from the TV. So we pried one of them off. Turns out that didn't solve anything. So we had a Haloless night. Not cool.
So we get up this morning and go to the Mall Of America. This place was pretty sweet, and I want to go there again. So anywho, we get there, screw around a little, and then decide to go on one of the roller coasters. This particular one was a log ride one. Jordan decided he would bring his video camera on board and try to get some bootlegged footage. Apparently there are security cameras everywhere on this ride, because within a minute of him taking it out, over intercom, we could hear a very angry old woman yelling at him to put it away. So yeah that was fun. Basically we just spent all day screwing around the Mall Of America. Then we got home and played some Halo. But once again we had the same dilemma as last night, so we borrowed Mourning September's three inch TV and played it out in the hall. It was pretty fun. I also got Madden 2005, Tony Hawk Underground, and The Punisher, so I was entertained. Sorry I'm so boring. So we're going home today. It kind of sucks. But it's best for everyone. I'm kind of bummed, cause I was pretty excited for this tour, but I guess I can wait for the next one. We're in Colorado rigt now, and we should be leaving in the next couple hours. That's how I'm starting this one...
So anyway, the past two days were spent in Seattle. And oh what a glorious time it was. We drove there right after our show in Portland, to get us at our destination, Jon and Jenny Dunn's house, at about 3 a.m. The next morning we woke up, me and Jeff played a couple games of Halo online, and then got a phone call regarding a pizza party at the Tooth and Nail offices, so we hauled ass down there. Now this is only the second time I've ever been to Tooth and Nail, but boyyyy howdy do I love it there. Going through the warehouse full of ever Tooth and Nail CD (besides The Juliana Theory's 'Emotion Is Dead') and take whatever you want. I made out pretty well this time. Last time I was there, i got like 15 CD's...I about doubled it this time. But that's nothing compared to Jordan who probably took about 100 CD's this time. But anywho, all the bands were hanging out at T&N until we realized we were supposed to be at the venue a half an hour ago. But for some reason, no one was really in a hurry. So we got there and set up. The show turned out to be pretty dang good. For some reason I figured the Seattle kids would like NOG, considering I've never been to a show there. But then after the show when I was packing up, I was cutting off all the duct tape from our poles, cause we had to tape them down to make them sturdy, and I freakin' cut the hell out of my finger. It was a deep burn, really. It hurt real bad though. But to the next day...
We woke up, and went to lunch at Wing Dome. If you don't know what Wing Dome is, go find out, cause I don't want to explain it. After lunch we went back to T&N, where me and Jordan finished all our looting, and Jeff did some preproduction for Mourning September. Then we went back to Jon & Jenny's for some more pizza. And the soundscan game, which again, I don't want to explain. And a couple hours later, our nice vacation was over...But not before some TV watching.
So we're watching Talk Soup on E! and its got this clip from the show Mom Swap, and the new mom was telling the kids that she doesn't want them wearing black anymore, but instead, bright colors. This didn't go over too well with the 150 lb 9 year old who had a mohawk, pierced ears, and a big stretched out black tank top. Upon hearing the new mom's request, he went irate, yelling things like "I'LL WEAR A SHIRT THAT SAYS F*#K SHANNON!...if it's okay," and my favorite quote of the time being, "YOU WANT US TO WEAR BRIGHT COLORS?! LIFE ISN'T ALL FLOWERS AND SAUSAGES!!!" I don't think any of us had ever laughed so hard. And then we left...And now we're in Salt Lake City. And I don't think I like it too much here.

Warshington

So...we're about four or five days into this tour, and it's probably one of the funnest times I've ever had. Right now we're in Seattle...but I'm kinda bored. Everyone's still asleep except for me and Trevor. But that's ok. All the other bands have been real cool so far, and really freaking hilarious. Yesterday, I even got a Spoken song dedicated to me, how cool am I? Yeah. Today and tomorrow should be fun. We have all day today to hang out here in Seattle, and tomorrow off. Then on Sunday I see Ryan. But I don't have any good stories, so I'm leaving. Not a thing can stop us now.

So I'm really excited. The Project tour has officially started for us, and all the bands are super cool and really nice. Friday night was the first night of tour, but Number One Gun had a show with Jimmy Eat World, so we missed the first night. Then on Saturday we were in Roseville. I don't even want to get started on the kids there, but now I have to. I freakin' hate the kids there. They're all so stupid, and they're the kind of kids who walk by the merch table, move everything around, cause they can't bend over to look at it, then they don't put anything back, or even attempt to make it look nice. Oh and they walk by it, bump into it and tear the whole dang table cloth off the table, and just keep walking. I am really starting to dread going there. But the turnout was great. Then last night we were in Fresno. Crappy town, good show. Which brings me to now. I'm doing laundry, then gonna pack, then probably going to Best Buy with Jimmy, and leaving tonight. I think I might be home for a day or two at the end of October, so I'll try to see yall then. Keep it real. I'll update this if something good happens, or if I get bored enough. Peace out.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://inherblood.blogspot.com/2005/09/we-are-heading-out-of-town-not-thing.html' title='We are heading out of town. The freakin' ride sucked. First I took a bus from Chico to Stockton. The bus smelled like BO, which I'm pretty sure was the signature scent to the driver. He looked like a fat version of the butler from Scary Movie. With the hair of the thing from Tales From The Crypt. Disgusting. Then I took a train from Stockton to Bakersfield. That kinda sucked, except that i took one of the seats that has a table...and three other seats. So I got lots of room for myself. Then a bus from Bakersfield to San Diego. I slept a little bit on that. Anywho...I got here, slept for quite a while, then me and Heather walked around the school and went to the beach. It was fun.
